Never Grow Up

In the words of Taylor Swift...

"Oh Darlin' don't you ever grow up,
don't you ever grow up,
just stay this little...
Oh Darlin' don't you ever grow up,
don't you ever grow up,
it could stay this simple"

The other morning while I was getting ready for school, Shad comes in and tells me that he has something for me to see....

 They were both sound asleep....

"Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a Superhero."

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!!!

What better way to count down the days until Poppy is home but to make a Countdown Chain!!!
Everyday we tear off a link ...
The shorter the chain gets, the closer it is until Poppy comes home!!!

Wohoo!!! COME HOME SOON POPPY!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Fun with Grandy

YEAH! Grandy came to visit!! We had so much fun!!
Since this is what was going on oustside, we came up with things to do inside the house.
We built puzzles...
Yea! I did it!!!

And then we taught Grandy how to play Wii

We played and rolled around on the floor...

We LOVE Grandy so much and want her to come back SOON!!
Thank you so much for coming to spend time with us! Come back SOON and bring PAPA!!!!

Praying God's Word - May 15th -21st

Week 15th-21st

Topic: Pray for Shad as a Daddy

Scripture: "Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children." ~Proverbs 17:6

What God taught me: I am so thankful to God for sending me Shad. I could not think of anyone better to raise my two boys. Just as Shad is very proud to be Max's son, I know that Riley is very proud of his Daddy, and Kolden will be too. I know that both Papa and Poppy are very proud of their grandsons, which is a reflection of Shad's example. God has used our two boys to bring out the very best in Shad, and it shows in everything else he does in and with his life.

Week 22nd-28th

Topic: Praying for our family's fears

Scripture: "The LORD is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear?" ~ Psalm 27:1

Proud Dad in Afghanistan

Dad sent us an email that said "Not to brag or anything,.." He is very proud that he was there when Greg received tow medals: The Air Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. Greg also received a certificate for being able to get in and out of the helicopter without breaking a hip at his age! They sure are making the best of their last month over there! WE MISS YOU GUYS!!

Moving On..

There comes a time in every Coach's career to move on. After much prayer and discussion, that time is here for the Reed family. Although we will leave behind some talented kids and many dear friends, we are making a move that is family based. It has been almost six years since Shad and I worked at the same school, and now with two kids, its definitely time to get back to that. Our boys will still spend their evenings following high school kids to various fields and gyms to cheer, but now, we will all be wearing the same color and supporting the same kids at all the events. It is bittersweet... The kids will no longer have commutes to the babysitter, or go to one town, then change t-shirts in the car while heading to another town on the same evening to watch a different team compete. My son will not have to ask me on the way to a game if he is a Tiger or a Bearcat anymore... now, we are all Lions. Shad and I will not be stretched as thinly as before, and we will be able to spend more time with our own kids then on the road trying to get somewhere with our "borrowed kids." We are so very grateful to all of those who have made our four years in North Texas full of memories. Our first year you helped us welcome Riley, then this past fall, you helped us welcome Kolden. We cannot imagine what it would have been like without your love and support. We have strong friendships that we will cherish. And just like in the moves before, we will still have former students come by for dinner, to babysit, or to stay a few nights and meet our new students and share a few stories. Although our hearts feel a little broken, we are very excited for the new adventure God has offered us. Thank you to all who made us feel at home, helped us welcome both of our precious boys, and trusted us to teach, coach, and lead your children. May God bless each of you and we will miss you.

GO LIONS!!!!

Mymo's Spring Fling

We went to visit Mymo this weekend and go to her neighborhood "Spring Fling"! We had so much fun and the weather was so beautiful! We started out at the petting zoo.

At first Riley was a little shy around the donkey and the other animals.
But he came around and started trying to play with all of them...

He had a blast chasing the chickens...
Kolden was a little less impressed with the animals...
My favorite was the piggy...

After we washed our hands, it was time for a little soccer!

Then we played fetch with Maggie.
Oh what form!! HA HA!
We watched Kolden try to steal Mymo's Cheetos...
Then we got our very own "tattoo"
Of course we fit in some time to play basketball. He reminded everyone how he can "Dunk like Blake Griffin"
By the end of the afternoon, we all felt like Kolden did...
Thank goodness they keep all of those animals caged up most of the time!!!!!!!
Thanks for a day full of great memories Mymo! We love you so much!!
