Easter

We had a great Easter. Not only did we enjoy and wonderful Church service celebrating that our Saviour has Risen, but we were also able to spend the day having fun with our family.
First we had to start off by making sure all of the kiddos were as spoiled as possible!

 Aren't they just the cutest!!

Aunt Lulu had tons of toys and treats ready for us!

Kolden ate his first marshmellow, more like chewed on, then dropped to the floor.
Of course, he then tired his very first sugar cookie. I'm almost positive he loved it.
But his very favorite treat was definately Mymo's banana pudding. YUM!!!!
Don Don took everyone out in the back yard to play "Chicken Flippin'" The kids had a ton of fun "flippn'" their rubber chickens!
Riley made sure that his JuJu had a rubber chicken of her own. Obviously, she was very impressed, just check out the expression on her face!
Then we all moved on to coloring Easter eggs.

What do you do after you color all of your eggs? You go egg hunting of course! Haley and Riley even entertained themselves while pateintly waiting on the start of the hunt.

And they're off!!!
After all the eggs were found, we moved on to our new bubble guns! Thanks JuJu!

And then we soaked everyone with water guns!!!!!
Once Kolden woke up from his nap, Don Don had one last egg left, kept out specially for Kolden's first Easter.
And just a few last pictures in the yard.
Curly-headed cousins!
I hope you enjoyed your Easter, because we were incredibly blessed with ours.

"'Don't be alarmed,' he said. 'You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here'... 'Go into all the owrld and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized wil be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.'" Luke 16:6, 15-16.

Brave Boy

So last Saturday night was an eventful one at our house. The storm clouds came rolling in and it was Riley's first tornado scare, even though he wasn't completely sure what was going on. For those of you who know me well, I am deathly afraid of storms--the absolute world's worst! Thankfully I had my Riley to remind me there was nothing to worry about. When you asked him if he was scared, he would say proudly, "No, because when I'm scared, God holds my hand!" So, as my boys and I sang songs and read books in the closet, and we weren't scared, because we knew God was with us. But it was probably a good thing we didn't see what was going on outside either....

Shad keeps commenting that he wonders why "tornado alley" followed him to North Texas.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am you GOD." Isaiah 41:10

Snippet Week April 17th-23rd

Topic: Praying for me as a mommy

Scripture: "Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." ~ Deuteronomy 6:5-7

What God taught me: As I read this verse to prepare my heart this week, at first I was very hopeful because I thought surely my boys see this in me. I was overwhelmed to know that the more I paid attention to my conversations with Riley, the more he seemed to be talking about God and Jesus regularly. As we go different places, he is asking more and more if God or Jesus is there with us. When I tell him yes, he has started replying, "Ok, just checking." He talks about how he wants to see Jesus and he wants to go to Heaven. I know that that there are many more conversations to tackle as the boys grow up, but I'm thankful to God for giving me a little boy with a big heart that is so open to learning more. I'm thankful to God for helping me lay the most importantt foundation in my boys hearts and minds.

Week April 24th-30

Topic: Praying for our family to use our minds of Christ

Scripture: "The spiritual man makes judgements about all things but he himself is not subject to any man's judgement. "For who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:15-16.

Seven Months!

Can you believe it? My baby is 7 months old! It does not seem like we've had him that long!

He's crawling all over the place and has even started pulling up on things to stand on his knees.

Everyone comments on his beautiful eyes and is jealous of his eyelashes.

His personality comes out a little more each day. He giggles and smiles at everyone, and has started talking more and more. He likes sugar cookies, chewing on marsh mellows, and loves his Mymo's banana pudding. He sits up so tall and has already figured out it is more fun to leave his toys behind and crawl over and play with whatever his big brother is playing with. He eats his veggies, but prefers fruit. He's also only waking up about once each night instead of a few times - which is great for Mommy and Daddy. He's really starting to enjoy bath time and kicks and splashes constantly. He is pleasantly plump at just under 22 lbs and has the cutest thunder thighs you've ever seen!

Riley and Barrett

Barrett was Riley's first friend. They basically spent the first two years of their lives together. They definately became "partners in crime".

And away we go....
Barrett's turn!

We don't get to see Barrett as often as we want to, but we definately have a ton of fun together!

Easter Egg Hunt #1

On Palm Sunday, Riley had his first Easter Egg Hunt of the year.

Kolden, Daddy, and Mymo enjoyed all the action- even if you can't read it on their faces.

Riley had his big friend Mitchel to help him out (and to make sure we didn't spend all of our time eating the candy).

Kolden was hoping for a chocolate egg.
He had so much fun getting a basketball full!!!
